The region’s wild weather has continued overnight.

Geelong and the surf coast has seen winds in excess of 100km/h recorded, with Airey’s Inlet copping the brunt at 113km/h.

A watch and act remains in place for parts of the region including the Bellarine and Surf Coast, with the winds forecast getting stronger tonight.

Most of the jobs for SES in the region are for downed trees, with 200 calls for help received locally across Barwon South west, with Corio having 31 calls alone.

That goes with more than 1000 calls statewide from 7pm to 6am during the brunt of conditions.

A severe weather warning has been reissued as of 5am for damaging winds, and though winds are easing, rain will still be a part of our day, and we are expecting the winds to strengthen later in the day.

Surf at Barwon Heads is expected to be over eight feet today, with swells as high as seven metres.

Stay tuned on air for all your updates.
