A Werribee man has been threatened with an axe while withdrawing cash at Southbank in Melbourne.
Police say the incident happened at a licensed venue on November 30, when a man came up to him and tried to snatch the money.
The offender tried to hit the 33-year-old victim with the axe but missed, and ran off.
The Wyndham man was not physically hurt in the incident,
Police believe the same offender was involved in another incident in Hoppers Crossing on December 1.
They say a worker offered to help a man at a Heaths Road shop, before he produced a hammer and threatened the staff member.
The offender stole items and ran off.
The worker was not injured.
The man police believe can help with their investigation is described as being aged in his 30s, with a medium build and short, dark beard.
He was wearing a black ‘Post Modern’ jacked in Southbank, with jeans, black baseball cap, black shoes and a bumbag.
