Good crowds and great football were the hallmarks of the carnival-style finals for local women’s football hosted by St Joseph’s FNC at Herne Hill on Sunday, with Geelong Amateurs crowned the 2023 Division 1 Epworth Cup premiers.

The Ammos culminated a dominant season beating Grovedale in the grand final by 21 points, 4.10 (34) to 2.1 (13), following captain Danielle Sgarbi winning the Div1 Best and Fairest award last week.

In Division 2 Geelong West Giants won a nail-biter by one point, 3.5 (23) to 3.4 (22), after scores were level at half-time and three-quarter time.
