Geelong Amateur will be without gun midfielder Tom Gribble for must-win meetings with Queenscliff and Modewarre after he accepted a two-match suspension for an incident in Saturday’s narrow win over Newcomb.

The dual Liston Trophy winner as league best-and-fairest during his VFL career at Werribee was cited for an incident with Newcomb’s Jarrad Duncan during the opening quarter of Amateur’s six-point win at Grinter Reserve.

The Match Review Panel assessed it as intentional conduct, high impact, and contact to the body. It drew a three-match ban, reduced to two with an early guilty plea, which Ammos has already accepted.

Newcomb is privately disappointed at the incident, which Duncan in doubt for Saturday’s clash with Torquay at Torquay.

Meanwhile, St Albans youngster Joe Osborne faces up to four matches on the sidelines after being cited for separate dangerous tackles.

At the time of writing, the Supersaints were yet to decide whether they were accepting the offer of two weeks each for early guilty pleas for incidents involving Grovedale duo Sam Adams and Sam Walker in the second half of Saturday’s loss at Burdoo Reserve.

Both incidents were assessed as careless conduct, high impact, and high contact, drawing three-week suspensions.

Geelong West will be without Koroit recruit Frazer Robb for its trip to Colac after he accepted a one-week suspension for rough conduct on Newtown & Chilwell’s Joe McDonald.

The third quarter incident at West Oval was graded by the MRP as careless conduct, high contact and medium impact, drawing a two-week ban.

Lara co-coach Devon Smith accepted a reprimand for a dangerous tackle on former Cat Jarryn McCormack in the loss to Colac at Bisinella Oval.

It was assessed as careless conduct, low impact, and high contact.

North Shore veteran Aaron Sellar also accepted a reprimand for rough conduct/dangerous tackle on reigning joint Mathieson medallist Fraser Fort in the third quarter of the Seagulls’ loss to North Shore.

Like Smith, it was graded as careless conduct, low impact, and high contact.

No charge was laid against Ocean Grove’s Cam Fowler after the MRP looked at a bump on Anglesea’s Anton Woods during the second term of the Grubbers’ loss at Ray Menzies Oval.

Bell Post Hill’s Harry McIntyre’s also in the clear for a bump on North Geelong’s Rory Desnoy in the opening quarter of the Panthers’ loss at Keith Barclay Oval.
