Modewarre has ended the home-and-away season in the BFNL in fourth place after beating Anglesea by 30 points at Mt Moriac Reserve on Saturday.
The Warriors will go into the do-or-die Elimination Final against the Roos with a psychological advantage, after holding the Roos goalless for the first half of the match and a final score of 8.8 (56) to 3.8 (26).
Torquay has taken the minor premiership, with their near-perfect run only spoiled by a nail-biting one-point loss to Drysdale in Round 17.
But last Saturday the Tigers showed their dominance by beating Barwon Heads 21.11 (137) to 13.7 (85).
Second-placed Drysdale put paid to any hope Geelong Ammos had to make the finals, with a resounding 44-point win (102 – 58).
Next week will see the Hawks battle the Seagulls for the Qualifying Final.
