Drysdale star James Breust is free to play in Saturday’s crucial clash with unbeaten Anglesea after accepting a reprimand for an incident in last week’s win over Barwon Heads.
Breust, who has missed just one game since joining the Hawks ahead of the 2021 season, received a yellow card for a high bump on Seagull Angus Ford during the third quarter of the clash at Drysdale Recreation Reserve.
The Match Review Panel deemed the incident worthy of a reprimand, which Breust accepted.
Reprimands were the flavour of the week for the MRP.
Geelong Amateur young gun Tom Gorell, Belmont Lions co-coach Brent Vermeulen, and North Geelong’s Jacsen Jewell also avoided suspension.
Gorell was cited for his role in a second-quarter melee in the win over Queenscliff, Vermeulen was looked at for a dangerous tackle on Inverleigh star Michael Best, and Jewell came under scrutiny for a strike on Geelong West’s Matt Sondergeld.
A second-quarter melee between Newtown & Chilwell and North Shore resulted in no action.
