Torquay star Lucas Anderson hopes to return from a knee reconstruction in the early stages of the 2024 season.

The 2023 BFNL leading goalkicker and Ash Medal runner-up missed being part of the Tigers’ charge to consecutive premierships after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in the Round 4 win over Geelong Amateur.

Anderson has told K rock Football’s Beyond the Boundary podcast he is making progress in his recovery.

“I’m running (and) doing a bit of change of direction,” he said.

“I’m hoping between Round 1 and 5, ideally.

“But, again, if I’m not ready, I’m not ready. It’s not about the first 10 (weeks); it’s about the last three or four.”
