The fruitful recruiting campaigns of Battle of the Bridge rivals Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads have continued.
The Grubbers have added Winchelsea defender Adam Walsh, while the Seagulls’ influx of new and returning players has yielded Darcy Griffin from Essendon and District club Maribyrnong Park.
Walsh spent two seasons with the Blues after arriving from Benalla in the strong Goulburn Valley League.
“Adam originally hails from Benalla but joins us from the Winchelsea FNC, where he has played a prominent role in their defensive unit,” a post on Facebook read.
“With two housemates who already don the red and white, Adam is no stranger to the Grubbers and will be an asset to our playing group in 2025.”
Walsh isn’t the only departure from Eastern Reserve with a link to Benalla.
It is understood Tom Moloney, who has spent the past three seasons with Winchelsea will join GFNL club Grovedale.
Griffin played 60 senior games for Maribyrnong Park, including this year’s Division One premiership win over West Coburg.
From 15 games in 2024, he managed 19 goals.
“Arriving to the club at the start of his prime, Darcy is a hardworking half-forward who can also go through the midfield,” the Seagulls said.
“Darcy is known for his elite pressure, goal sense and toughness around the contest.”
