Torquay could be without Baxter Mensch in its chase for a hat-trick of Bellarine premierships after the star midfielder was unveiled as a recruit at a Sunraysia League club.
Robinvale Euston has posted on Facebook that Mensch will head to Victoria’s northwest for the 2025 season.
“We are thrilled to secure this absolute contest-beast; his damaging left foot will be a great addition to our Club,” the post said.
However, Torquay has told K rock Football that Mensch is contracted for 2025 and hasn’t confirmed his release.
Currently playing in the NTFL with Darwin Buffaloes, Mensch averaged 30.8 disposals, of which 14.2 were contested, across 19 games in 2024.
The son of former Geelong forward David, the 24-year-old also averaged 6.8 clearances and 6.4 inside 50s.
Mensch, a Newtown & Chilwell junior, won the Allthorpe Medal as GFNL reserve grade best-and-fairest in 2019.
He joined Torquay in 2021 before returning to the GFNL with the Giants the following year, winning their best-and-fairest and being named to the Team of the Year.
Mensch started 2023 on the list of Queensland-based VFL club Southport before returning to the region early that season.
