Young to call Heads home

Barwon Heads will have access to a second homegrown talent when not required at VFL level in 2025, with Flynn Young committing to the Seagulls.

Young played a crucial role in Werribee’s first premiership in 31 years last month, playing 16 games and kicking 12 goals – including the Tigers’ first of the grand final win over Southport – after impressing in the opening month of the season with GFNL club Newtown & Chilwell.

He kicked seven goals in the opening round meeting with North Shore, which was followed by nine majors in Round 3 against St Albans and five in the clash with Lara in Round 5.

BFNL: INS & OUTS

The 22-year-old joins 2019 premiership star Zach Walter in returning to Howard Harmer Oval.

Walter, who has spent the past four seasons at the Eagles, will spend a second year on Port Melbourne’s list in 2025.
