Corio co-coach Darren Bennett is resting at home after spending the past week in hospital.

The Devils great and GDFNL life member was admitted to hospital last Tuesday with initial concerns that Bennett had lymphoma.

However, Bennett’s wife Lynda wrote in a social media post that it had been ruled out by doctors.

“Darren has a bit of a road to recovery but will be back to his normal self in a few weeks and is now recovering at home,” Lynda wrote.

“We are forever grateful to all our loved ones and friends who have supported us all through this s..t time.

“The ones who went above and beyond to help us get through the days, you know who you are.”

In Bennett’s absence, his son and co-coach Joel has guided Corio’s training as the Devils prepare practice matches against Colac and District clubs Irrewarra Beeac and Otway Districts on March 16 and 23 at All In One Oval.

The meeting with Otway Districts has been labelled ‘A Game for Change’.
