Winchelsea has officially started the search for its next coach.

The Blues, who are being led on a caretaker basis by former mentor Brendan Forssman following Christian Shaw’s departure on the eve of the season, opened applications for 2025 and beyond yesterday (Wednesday).

However, Forssman, who will participate in the selection process, says there has already been interest in the position.

“‘Dogs’ (Daniel Greskie), the president, and I have already started getting a shortlist together for next year’s coach, and we’ve interviewed one person already – a first interview – which has been nice,” Forssman told K rock Football’s Beyond the Boundary podcast.

“So, we’ve had some guys who reached out to us before it’s even been advertised, so that looks pretty promising for next year.”
