INVERLEIGH has re-signed Adam Donohue as its senior coach.
The Hawks have confirmed the 30-year-old, who was due to lead the club for a second season this year, will continue in the role in 2021.
“It’s a very happy Hawks Nest tonight (Wednesday). We are thrilled to announce Adam Donohue as our senior coach for 2021,” a statement on Inverleigh’s Facebook page said.
“His leadership and commitment is a credit to him and his family, and we are blessed to have him on board.”
The son of former Geelong spearhead Larry, Donohue spent two years on the Cats’ list after being taken in the 2007 National Draft was as a father-son selection.
He departed Kardinia Park at the end of 2009 and returned to Grovedale, helping the Tigers to their lone GFL grand final appearance in 2013 and a preliminary final in 2016.
Donohue joined Geelong Amateur for a season in 2018 before replacing Mark McDowell at Inverleigh ahead of the 2019 season.
The Hawks finished the home-and-away season in fourth spot. They defeated East Geelong in the elimination final before being beaten after the siren by Werribee Centrals in the following week’s first semi-final.
Donohue is the second former Cat to re-sign with his club. Kane Tenace committed to a second season at Geelong Amateur on Tuesday.
