Talented East Geelong forward Hugh Menzies is facing an extended stint on the sidelines after shoulder surgery last month.
The 21-year-old went under the knife after suffering an injury to a shoulder he’s previously had issues with while playing cricket for Thomson.
First-year coach Ned Aulsebrook concedes it’s a blow for the Eagles, with no confirmation of a return date.
“Yeah, it’s massive,” he told K rock’s Beyond the Boundary podcast.
“He had surgery (on) January 19, so it’s still sort of settling a little bit.
“But we’ll work through that (return date) as it comes.”
