Reigning GDFNL premier Thomson has made its first off-season addition with the signing of the experienced Patty Knott.
Knott, whose roots are in the Wimmera, is no stranger to the Geelong region, having played with GDFNL rivals Bannockburn and GFNL clubs Bell Park and Grovedale on either side of Covid.
In his lone season at Bannockburn in 2018, he kicked 33 goals in 14 games
Knott, who played Talent League with the then North Ballarat Rebels and reserves with SANFL club Glenelg, has spent the past two seasons with the Horsham Saints.
It is understood Thomson’s first loss from its premiership team is Logan Mitchell, who is headed to South Australian club Tantanoola with Winchelsea star Jordan Gould.
Meanwhile, in the BFNL, runner-up Anglesea has added to its forward firepower with the signing of Ayden Gras from St Joseph’s.
Gras won this year’s GFNL reserves goal-kicking award with 60 goals from 14 games before adding a further four goals in the finals.
At senior level, he’s kicked 33 goals from 20 games.
