Country call for star Falcons

Six Geelong Falcons have earned selection in the Vic Country team for this year’s girls under-18 National Championships.

Captain Mekah Morrissy and fellow Newtown & Chilwell product Sara Howley, St Mary’s pair Seisia White and Rebecca Clottey, St Joseph’s Chloe Bryant, and Stella Huxtable from Torquay have been named in the 28-player squad.

Howley is part of the AFLW Academy, while Morrissy, Bryant and White all had the opportunity to feature at VFLW level with Geelong this year.

The team will be coached by Falcons mentor Mel Hickey.

The opening game of the Championships against Queensland will be played in Brisbane on July 7.

Vic Country will face Vic Metro the following Sunday – July 14 – at IKON Park.
