Geelong Falcons duo Josh Lindsay and Ben Rongidt will line up for the Australian under-18 side on Sunday.

The team – made up of members of the National Academy squad – will take on Richmond’s VFL side at RSEA Park (Moorabbin) before facing Coburg at the Whitten Oval next week.

Marsh AFL National Academy Manager Tarkyn Lockyer says wearing the national jumper is an incredible honour for any footballer.

“Wearing the Australia jumper and representing the Australia U18 team is a huge honour for our young stars and always the highlight of the Marsh AFL National Academy program,” he said.

“We look forward to having the squad together this weekend and providing them new experiences and learnings which they can equip themselves with on and off the field throughout their football journey.”

The squad will travel to Melbourne on Thursday for their second training camp, including training sessions at Arden Street on Friday and Saturday before the clash.

The duo were named to the Academy Squad in November after strong seasons, including Geelong NGA member Rongidt being named in the Victoria Country squad for the under 18 national championship.

Lindsay represented Victoria Country in the under 16 championships before being named best on ground for Team Heppell AFL Futures under-17 match last year.

Lindsay was also named co-captain of the Falcons for 2025.

In Talent League action this week, the Falcons boys team will play the Murray Bushrangers on Sunday at Bendigo’s Queen Elizabeth Oval.

The girls side will face the Dandenong Stingrays on Saturday at Epsom Huntly Reserve.
