Tash Heffernan will lead the Geelong Falcons’ girls program in 2025.
The region’s Talent League announcing Heffernan will step into the role of regional development coach for the season, replacing Melissa Hickey, who is spending the next 12 months on maternity leave.
In a social media post on Tuesday night, the club said it was excited to see Heffernan take on the role.
“Over the last three years, Tash has been a key leader within the Geelong Falcons coaching team, where she has been able to build strong relationships with the players, families, staff and broader networks within the region,” the post read.
“Previously, Tash has been the head coach of Geelong College girls’ team and heavily involved with St Marys Juniors.
“Throughout her time with the AFL, Tash has continued to drive her own development, undertaking key coaching roles within the Vic Country Under 16 and Under 17 programs where her passion to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all players has impressed those working alongside her.”
Heffernan will officially commence in the role on November 6.
