Multi-talented athlete Monique Conti has signed with Geelong United for its inaugural WNBL season.

The reigning AFL Women’s best and fairest player will join United following the upcoming AFLW season.

The 24-year-old currently plays for Richmond after joining the Tigers in 2020, after two seasons and a premiership with the Western Bulldogs.

Conti has also forged a sensational basketball career since she was crowned WNBL rookie of the year for the Melbourne Boomers in 2017.

Last season with the Boomers, Conti averaged eight points, three rebounds and two assists over 23 games.

Head Coach Chris Lucas, who spent time coaching Monique during her time at the Boomers, said he’s really happy to have her join.

“Her improvement last year, she really excelled and took on her role within the team,” Lucas said.

“She’s super fit, she brings a presence on the floor, she can shoot the ball, and defensively she fits everything I want from her.”
