Banno brothers joins GFNL contenders

Talented Bannockburn brothers Leigham and Jaxon Elzinga have signed with reigning GFNL runner-up South Barwon.

The Swans confirmed the return of the duo – the sons of late North Shore premiership player Troy – tonight (Monday).

Leigham, who kicked four goals on his senior debut with the Tigers as a 15-year-old, played eight Talent League matches with the Geelong Falcons this year.

He arrives at McDonald Reserve as a one-point player after featuring in 50 games at under-10 and under-12 level.

Jaxon played all 19 senior games for Bannockburn this year despite being a bottom-age under-18 player.

He will carry points after not reaching the 40-game threshold at the Swans.

Dingwall played 68 games at senior level for the Tigers. He was a vital part of the club’s push to a reserve grade grand final this year, featuring in the best players 13 times in 21 matches.

Geelong West (GFNL) has lost Tex Mitchell to Ballarat Swans but welcomes Inverleigh premiership player Fin O’Keefe, who has previously flirted with a move to West Oval.

The GDFNL Giants welcome back big man Jye Bohm after two seasons away while also adding Harvey Murrant from Grovedale.

After a year at St Arnaud, 2022 GDFNL Team of the Year Ryan Lempa returns to East Geelong.
