Ten days after committing to the 2025 GFNL season, North Shore will take to the field for the first time on the last major weekend of practice matches for the pre-season.
The Seagulls will face GDFNL club Anakie at Windsor Park in a six-period match-up in what will be their only hit-out before heading to Colac on Saturday, April 12 to open their campaign.
For the Roos, the meeting with North Shore comes after Colac and District club Apollo Bay withdrew from last Sunday’s practice match.
With the Bellarine and GDFNL seasons starting next weekend, it’s majority GFNL clubs in action this weekend.
St Mary’s and Grovedale do battle at Anthony Costa Oval, Geelong West hosts Corowa-Rutherglen at West Oval, St Albans is home to Kinglake, and Lara is away to Point Cook.
Newtown & Chilwell, which faces St Joseph’s in Opening Round, played against Essendon and District club Greenvale last (Thursday) night.
After taking on St Kevin’s at Leopold last week, St Joseph’s will set Google Maps for Winchelsea and a meeting with Old Brighton.
Bell Park will face Altona at Myers Reserve in its final preparation before travelling to Colac next Saturday night.
Portarlington is the lone Bellarine club in action. It is on the road taking on Ballarat League club Bacchus Marsh.
