Kade Chalcraft has become the second big-name departure from the GFNL for the day, with the St Mary’s midfielder returning to the Goulburn Valley.

Shepparton United has confirmed the premiership Saint will play with his home club next year.

The former Murray Bushrangers captain and best-and-fairest joined brother Jye at Anthony Costa Oval in 2022 and played a key role in helping St Mary’s to consecutive premierships.

A bulging disc in his neck restricted Chalcraft to nine appearances with the Saints and five at VFL level with Geelong in 2024.

The news of Chalcraft’s departure follows that of fellow Cat and Geelong West star Tanner Lovell returning to Hampden League club Portland.

The midfielder is the second confirmed player to farewell St Mary’s, joining star forward Sam Dobson, who will co-coach Koroit in next year.
