Leopold premiership hero Ollie Tate is weighing up his playing future after playing a vital role in the club’s historic second consecutive GFNL premiership.

In his first game since the Round 16 hiding of St Albans after battling a hamstring issue, the 33-year-old didn’t play like someone who hadn’t taken the field in six weeks in the 21-point win over South Barwon.

In a typical Tate performance, he racked up 26 disposals and took 12 marks to give the Lions a steady head during the occasional madness a grand final can provide.

“I think I’m done,” Tate told krockfootball.live.

“Madi, my wife is due in November… and I’m very much looking forward to spending Tuesday, Thursday nights helping out at home a little bit more and spending a little bit more time there.

“I had a trip overseas in the middle of the year that meant I missed a few games.

“I’m pretty keen while Madi’s on maternity leave to maybe duck away for another couple of weeks next year.”
