Towners reveal trio of signings

A Geelong VFL hopeful and two Hampden League products have been unveiled as Newtown & Chilwell’s latest recruits.

Felix Katsaros is training with the Cats after arriving from SANFL club Sturt, where he played under-18s and reserves in 2024.

The defender won the Double Blues’ under-18 best-and-fairest last year.

Cobden’s Ben McGlade played 17 games with Talent League grand finalists GWV Rebels while making seven senior appearances with the Bombers.

A Hampden League underage representative, Charlie Field, has been signed by Hamilton Kangaroos.

He played two senior matches in 2023 before adding a further eight last year.

The signings of Katsaros, McGlade, and Field follow the previously announced addition of Logan Morey from Yarrawonga and the return of Oscar Murdoch after two years on the Geelong rookie list.

However, the Eagles, who will be guided by Geelong great Steve Johnson in 2025, have farewelled Joe McDonald (Ocean Grove), Kane Reid (Woorinen), Zach Walter (Barwon Heads), and Flynn Young (Barwon Heads), while three-time Mathieson medalist Matt McMahon has retired.
