Bell Park ruck Ollie Bridgewater has been thrust into reigning VFL premier Werribee’s first practice match tomorrow (Friday) night.
With injuries to Tigers-listed GFNL big men Tylar Watts (Leopold – back) and Ben Kellett (South Barwon – groin), Bridgewater was invited to training this week and will provide backup to St Mary’s product Sam Conway against Frankston at Seaford.
Bridgewater, who finished third in the Dragons’ best-and-fairest in his first season after arriving from South Warrnambool, is among several newcomers keen to impress Werribee coach James Allan.
Geelong Falcons graduates Jack Henderson, James Hose, Josh Sanders, Noah Tullio, Cooper Ward, and Liam Kershaw will also feature against the Dolphins.
Meanwhile, former Tiger Matt Keast will line up for North Melbourne against a Collingwood squad featuring former St Mary’s teammate Kane Loftus.
