GEELONG Falcons will enter Saturday’s NAB League Girls clash with Calder at RAMS Arena prepared whatever the Cannons throw at them.
The Falcons sit atop the ladder with three rounds to play and are almost certain to play finals, along with second-placed Northern Knights.
However, Calder is in a logjam of five teams who are legitimate chances of claiming third and fourth spot.
“Last year, we didn’t play very well there when we were expected to win,” coach Jason Armistead said. “It’s going to be a really tough day.
“Every win’s going to be important for them.”
Geelong has made three changes for the clash.
Captain Lucy McEvoy returns after missing the Round 6 win over Western Jets due to AFL Academy commitments, and classy forward Jarrah Hecker is also back, while St Joseph’s Mia Van Dyke will make her debut.
Poppy Schaap and Laura Ryan are both unavailable, while Bree Case has been omitted.
Armistead is hoping to settle on the team that he’ll take into the finals over the next fortnight.
“We’re still trying to work out a couple of areas,” he said.
“We’re working towards that over the next two weeks.”
MEANWHILE, the Geelong Falcons Boys will be chasing their first win of the season when they meet Calder in the match following the Falcons-Cannons Girls clash.
