THE fixture may say a bye, however, at least 11 Geelong Falcons will be in action this weekend outside of club football.

Queenscliff’s Jhye Clark, St Joseph’s trio Ted Clohesy, Xavier Muhor, Olivier Northam, and Colac’s Will Parkhouse have been named in the Vic Country team for Saturday’s under-17 National Championships clash with Vic Metro at GMHBA Stadium.

Meanwhile, Falcons captain Gennaro Bove, Sam Witherdan, Matthew Keast, Kyle Skene, Oli Wiltshire, Lachie Kidd and Will Kilpatrick have all been called up to the Sydney VFL team for its clash with the GWS Giants.

“Sydney brought a reduced squad down (to Melbourne) and hence didn’t have enough players to play VFL,” Falcons Talent Manager Tom Lonergan said.

“It’s a good opportunity for them.”
