NEW St Joseph’s senior women’s coach Angus Kramer is keen to add some more numbers to his list ahead of this year’s AFL Barwon season.

Joeys have suffered some off-season losses and Kramer is hoping to attract another 5-10 players to Drew Oval.

“It’s to have the reassurance that if we have injuries we’ve got enough (players),” he said.

“The girls had a lot of injuries last year and even with a big squad still struggled some weeks to put a full squad on the park.

“At this moment we should have enough for a full side, but there’s not a lot of insurance if we got some injuries.”

Kramer has arrived at St Joseph’s after a number of years coaching junior boys teams at Geelong Amateur, including taking Ammos to the under 19 Division 2 title in 2018.

He says a new challenge coaching women was hard to go past.

“Not that I was sick of coaching juniors but having the success I did last year, I thought it would be a nice changeup,” Kramer said.

“When this offer came up in what is a growing field, I thought it was a great opportunity to get onboard.”
