GEELONG forward Rachel Kearns has been named to make a shock return on Friday night after having surgery on a dislocated shoulder.
Kearns hasn’t played since round one when she sustained the injury and underwent an AC joint repair putting her season in doubt.
But officials say the injury has healed faster than expected, with Kearns coming in Brooke Plummer who has been omitted.
The Irish recruit has been named in the side to face Adelaide on Friday evening, as the only change for Geelong.
For the Crows Kiera Mueller will make her debut, while Lisa Whitely, Brooke Tonon and Amber Ward have been recalled.
