Geelong will welcome back veteran Mark Blicavs and midfielder Mitch Knevitt for tomorrow (Thursday) night’s Gather Round opener against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval.
Blicavs was a late withdrawal from the win over Melbourne due to illness, while Knevitt was managed as he battles plantar fasciitis.
The return of Blicavs is crucial, with coach Chris Scott likely to use him in a key defensive role in the absence of Jack Henry, who will miss 3-4 weeks with a hamstring injury.
Knevitt replaces omitted rookie Ted Clohesy, who is an emergency, along with Mitch Duncan and Oli Wiltshire.
Adelaide has included Matt Crouch and Zac Taylor at the expense of James Borlase and Lachie Murphy.
K rock is live from 6pm (AEST) Thursday night via FM 95.5, krockfootball.live, and the AFL app.
