An extensive injury list has left Geelong with just 21 players to pick from for tomorrow (Friday) night’s must-win final-week clash with Kuwarna (Adelaide) at GMHBA Stadium.
The Cats have made one change to the team that defeated Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) last week, with Brooke Plummer replacing the experienced Julia Crockett-Grills, whose season had been ended by a syndesmosis injury.
“You would have seen the injury list that we have got, and it is quite extensive, which is a bit of a shame,” coach Dan Lowther said.
“But we have got our team ready to play against the Crows, which will be a really highly combative game.
“The 21 that take the field against Adelaide tomorrow night will be ready to go.”
Former Carton AFLW player Poppy Schaap, who finished in Geelong’s VFLW best-and-fairest this year, Melanie Staunton (Carlton VFLW) and Scarlett Orritt (Essendon VFLW) are the emergencies.
