Geelong has suffered a significant blow in its quest to turn around a mid-season slump, with emerging midfielder Tanner Bruhn facing up to six weeks on the sidelines with a fractured scaphoid.
The 22-year-old, who recently signed a two-year contract extension keeping him in the Hoops until the end of 2027, suffered the injury at training on Tuesday and will undergo surgery.
Bruhn has had an impressive second season with the Cats.
The former GWS Giant is leading Geelong’s total clearances (61) despite missing two games, at an average of 5.5 per game.
He is also averaging 18.5 disposals, 4.5 tackles and 3.5 inside 50s.
More to come
