Geelong president Craig Drummond will hand the reins to current director Grant McCabe at this year’s annual general meeting.
Drummond, who replaced Colin Carter as president of the Cats heading into the 2021 season, will step down from the club’s board after serving since 2011.
“Grant has been a long-time member and supporter of the Club and has played a key role on our Board since joining five years ago,” Drummond said of his replacement.
“Grant is a highly successful executive and his expertise in critical thinking and strategic decision making has already contributed significantly to our Club.
“The appointment of Grant as the Club’s next president will be a significant milestone for the Geelong Football Club and comes as the Club seeks to reach 100,000 members in 2025.”
Educated at local schools, St Mary’s Tech and Newcomb Secondary College, McCabe holds degrees from RMIT and Melbourne University.
He is the managing partner of global firm Boston Consulting Group, where Carter is a senior advisor.
McCabe has been a director since 2019, and has a played a key role in the integration of the AFLW program into the club.

“I have been a lifelong supporter of this club and as a board member, have seen up close what a truly impressive place this is.
