GEELONG will play on a Friday night for the first time since Round 12, and just the fourth time in 2022, when it takes to the field for its preliminary final.
The AFL has confirmed the Cats will meet the winner of this Friday’s semi-final between Melbourne and Brisbane at the MCG on September 16.
Sydney’s preliminary final against either Collingwood or Fremantle will be played as a Saturday twilight match at 4:45pm on September 17.

The scheduling of the two prelims allows seven-day breaks for both semi-final winners.
