Reigning best-and-fairest Georgie Prespakis, runner-up Nina Morrison, and star halfback Becky Webster have signed the longest deals in Geelong’s short AFLW history after putting pen to paper on four-year contracts.

The new contracts, which will see that trio in the Hoops until the end of 2027, follow the announcement of a joint five-year Collective Bargaining agreement between the AFL and the AFL Players’ Association in September.

Forward duo Chloe Scheer and Jackie Parry, who kicked 36 goals between them as the Cats made an audacious run to a preliminary final, and speedster Mikayla Bowen signed three-year deals.

Joint games record-holder Julia Crockett Grills (55 games), three-time best-and-fairest Amy McDonald, former Demon Chantel Emonson, and inaugural squad member Georgie Rankin will remain at GMHBA Stadium until at least the end of 2025.

One-year deals have been signed by captain Meg McDonald, Darcy Moloney, Kate Surman, Kate Darby, Liv Fuller, Shelley Scott, Brooke Plummer, Zali Friswell, Rachel Kearns, Claudia Gunjaca, Gabbi Featherston, Abbey McDonald, Mel Bragg and Erin Hoare.

Rookie Irish duo Aishling Moloney and Anna-Rose Kennedy will enter the second season of two-year deals in 2024.

Former Brisbane Lion Bella Smith has signed a one-year contract after arriving via a trade last week.

“All players in our squad last year played a key role in our success in 2024, and to be able to
retain the majority of our list head is exciting, and we can’t wait to continue to build on our
success next year,” assistant football boss Brett Johnson said.

“Ten players have committed to the Club longer term, which has enabled us to lock away a strong
core group of players that can continue to lead our program forward both from a team
performance and culture perspective.”
