GEELONG star Jeremy Cameron has given rise to hope he will be available for next week’s qualifying final against Collingwood.

The key forward, who finished the home-and-away season with an equal-team-high 59 goals, suffered a hamstring injury in the final quarter of the Round 22 win over Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium.

Cameron, who was one of five Cats named in the 44-man All-Australian squad on Monday, has told K rock’s Tom, Lingy & Loggy he is tracking well to take on the Magpies.

“It’s going really well; I ran really well yesterday,” he said.

“A lot of people don’t really understand, but you get moving pretty quickly.

“So, three days post a hamstring (injury), you’re jogging if it’s feeling OK.

“I was lucky enough to pull up well from it, and I’m fully clear at the moment; there’s no pain or anything.”

Cameron is one of several key players Geelong will be hoping to have fit as it looks to take the direct route into a preliminary final.

Midfielder Cam Guthrie (shoulder) and defender Jake Kolodjashnij (concussion) were both sidelined by half-time of the final-round win over West Coast.

Half-back Mitch Duncan (hip) missed the meetings with the Eagles and Suns, while ruck Rhys Stanley (adductor) came off the ground during the second half against Gold Coast.

Running machine Sam Menegola (managed) will also likely be available next Saturday.
