Mitch Knevitt showed glimpses of why he’s been the most-hyped Geelong youngster of the pre-season as the Cats claimed a 15-point win over Hawthorn in today’s match simulation at GMHBA Stadium.
Knevitt impressed many in the 4000-strong crowd with his work at centre bounces and on a wing in the 15.14 (104) to 13.11 (89) victory.
Entering his fourth season with 14 matches under his belt, the 22-year-old Grovedale product – who is out of contract at the end of this season – admits it’s time to get his AFL career moving.
“This pre-season and off-season, (I’ve) definitely put in a bit of extra work to try and take that next step to be a consistent AFL player, as everyone wants to be,” Knevitt told krockfootball.live
(I) took a lot out of last year still playing VFL – just working on my more stoppage stuff in the midfield.
“(That) should help me for the long run, I hope.”
