Experienced Geelong defender Jake Kolodjashnji will play at some stage over Easter weekend after overcoming a groin injury.
The 29-year-old is available for selection, with a call to be made on whether he will make his return via the VFL clash with Box Hill on Sunday or come straight into the AFL team for the traditional Easter Monday match-up with Hawthorn.
“Jake has progressed well and has been building his training volume over the past week, including completing a match replica session over the weekend,” Cats football boss Andrew Mackie said.
“He joined (the) main training session today and is available for selection this week.“
In a further boost for the Geelong backline, vice-captain Tom Stewart has overcome an illness that forced him out of the Gather Round win over Adelaide on the morning of the come-from-behind win.
After being listed as 1-2 weeks away last week, developing big man Mitch Edwards is now TBC as the Cats attempt to get on top of his ground issues.
“Mitch has been recovering well from pelvic-related groin soreness,” Mackie said.
“He has integrated back into main training and will continue to build on his conditioning over the next few weeks before he will be available for selection.”
