Geelong has taken another step towards finalising its list before Wednesday’s close of the AFL Trade period by re-signing veterans Gary Rohan, Rhys Stanley and Zach Tuohy.

The Cats confirmed one-year deals for the trio, who all started their careers elsewhere.

Rohan and Stanley will both have the opportunity to bring up 200 AFL games in 2024.

32-year-old Rohan, who has played 86 games and kicked 111 goals since arriving at the Cats after 106 games and 96 goals at Sydney, will reach the mark in his eighth game next year.

Fourteen games will get him to 100 in the Hoops.

Stanley, who turns 33 later this year, needs four games for 200 and 12 for 150 with Geelong after 58 games at St Kilda.

Tuohy, who holds the record for most games by an Irish-born player at 270, will add to that tally, including 150 games with the Cats and 120 at the Blues.

“Zach, Rhys and Gary are all influential people and players at our football club,” football boss Andrew Mackie said in a statement.

“They continue to contribute significantly on-field, and the professionalism and leadership they bring off the field is instrumental to the growth of our younger players and the football program.”

CATS: HAWKINS SET TO BREAK GAMES RECORD

The re-signing of Rohan, Stanley and Tuohy leaves only the futures of Esava Ratugolea, Flynn Kroeger and Mitch Hardie up in the air.

Ratugolea hopes to join Port Adelaide before the trade period closes, with Kroeger and Hardie, who joined the Cats in the mid-season draft, hoping for a deal for 2024.

The Cats have farewelled retiring duo Isaac Smith and Jon Ceglar and delisted quartet Cooper Whyte, Sam Menegola, Osca Riccardi and Sam Simpson.
