Geelong recruit Bailey Smith will have to wait until Round 11 to face his former club, with the AFL unveiling the Thursday night schedule for the first 16 weeks of the season.
The Cats will face the Western Bulldogs on Thursday, May 22, at GMHBA Stadium.
Smith joined Geelong via a trade last month after 103 games with the Dogs.

The meeting with the Bulldogs is one of three confirmed Thursday night matches for the Cats in 2025.
Geelong will open the season against reigning premier Brisbane Lions on March 6 and face the Crows in Adelaide to get Gather Round underway on April 10.
The AFL fixture will be released tomorrow.
