Tyson Stengle has ignored offers from rival clubs to remain with Geelong on a long-term deal.
The All-Australian small forward will remain in the Hoops until at least the end of 2029 after signing a five-year deal.
“I feel like the club has really embraced me since I first walked through the door,” Stengle said.
“I just want to give back to the club; the way they look after me down there was the main reason I stayed.
“And the way they run their program and the way the coaches and staff embrace me, and, obviously, the players embrace me, that’s probably the main reasons why I’ll stay down there until the end of 2029.
“I’m excited for the next five years.”
The 25-year-old has kicked 111 goals from 59 games since arriving at Geelong as a delisted free agent ahead of the 2022 season.
He kicked 53 goals in his first season with the Cats, helping the club to that year’s premiership.
After 27 goals from 19 games last year, Stengle has returned to his All-Australian form with 31.11 from 15 games this year, including three goals in last night’s win over Essendon.
“We are thrilled Tyson has recommitted to the Cats,” football boss Andrew Mackie said.
“Tyson continues to show his talent and brilliance on-field, and we look forward to watching him continue to flourish as a person and footballer.
“He is much loved by his teammates and the broader club, and we love what he contributes to our football program.
“At only 25, we are excited to see what Tyson can achieve in the future, and we know our members and fans will continue to enjoy watching him represent the Geelong Football Club.”
