Geelong will welcome Essendon and Richmond to GMHBA Stadium among its home games in 2025.
The Cats’ request for ten matches at the venue for the first time since 1996 has been granted, starting with a clash against Fremantle in Round 1.
The Bombers have been to GMBHA Stadium twice since 1993, with those appearances coming in 2021 and 2023.
The Tigers are back for a second straight season, having not played here before this year since 2017.
Matches at GMHBA Stadium are an even split between Victorian and non-Victorian clubs.
Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda will join Essendon and Richmond on the local slate of games.
Joining the Dockers in Geelong are Port Adelaide, Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast, and the GWS Giants, who have won their past four meetings at GMHBA Stadium dating back to 2019.
The clash with the Giants will be the first Sunday 3:20pm match the Cats have appeared in at home since 2015.
“We are thrilled with the opportunities our 2025 AFL Fixture presents from a football, fan, and commercial perspective, and we can’t wait to kick-off the season in just 112 days’ time,” Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Marcus King said.
“From a football point of view, we are delighted to have a strong mix of teams both travelling down to Geelong and (in) our blockbuster fixtures up in Melbourne and interstate.
“We have a great spread and opponent mix throughout the season.
“A big focus as a Club was to play 10 home games at GMHBA Stadium in 2025, and to secure this is an amazing result – it will be the first time since 1996 that this has happened.
“Each Geelong match drives a direct economic impact to the Geelong region of approximately $5-7 million per game played, so it is a really significant outcome to both the Club and the region to have the extra game at GMHBA Stadium in 2025.”
The lone MCG home game is the Easter Monday meeting with Hawthorn, while Geelong will be the away team against Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon and Richmond.
The return clash with the Tigers is scheduled in the final round of the season.
The Cats will also play reigning premier Brisbane, finalists Port Adelaide and GWS Giants, Essendon and St Kilda twice.
There are six interstate trips – the Lions in Opening Round, the Crows in Adelaide to start Gather Round, Port Adelaide, Sydney, West Coast and the GWS Giants.
The clash with the Eagles has been fixtured on the Sunday 7:20pm (AEST) timeslot on June 1 -the eve of the Western Australia Day public holiday.
The meeting with the Giants at ENGIE Stadium is the first time Geelong has been to the ground since Round 1, 2020.
The Cats will have byes in Round 3 and Round 6.
The fixture for rounds 17-23 will be scheduled later in the
