The wait for this year’s VFL and VFLW fixtures is over, with the schedule for both competitions released today (Tuesday).
Geelong’s VFL team will again play 18 matches as part of a 21-round season, while the VFLW Cats will play 14 games, as per previous seasons.
The Mark Corrigan-led VFL team, which has two AFL curtain raisers scheduled at GMHBA Stadium, open their campaign against St Kilda-aligned Sandringham at Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Sunday, March 23.
Rookie VFLW coach Taylah Hassett’s first match in charge of Geelong will be against the Box Hill Hawks on Easter Saturday, April 19, at Deakin University.
The VFLW home-and-away season will run into August, with the finals to align with the start of the AFLW season.
