Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash near Anakie that resulted in a 50-yeard-old man being airlifted to hospital early Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a truck and car on the corner of Stacey’s and Ballan roads just before 6am, where thedriver of a Ford Festiva was reportedly trapped until crews freed him almost 30 minutes later.
The 54-year-old from Anakie was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with lower body injuries.
The truck driver, a 52-year-old Curlewis man, is helping police with their enquiries.
Police believe thetruck was travelling along Staceys Road, when it collided head-on with the Ford Festiva at the intersection of the two roads around 5:50am.
